Brief:

To replace a cramped and dark 1930 detached house with a 4 bed family home, a self-contained one bedroom flat, and a self contained studio.

Project:

This new-build three storey house was built on the old footprint and within the roof profile to comply with tight planning restrictions, redesigned to create a spacious and light home with a greatly improved exterior. The ground floor was opened up to create a bright and airy double height entrance hall and an open plan living room leading onto the garden.  Taking advantage of the steep slope of the site, a new basement was dug out which houses a one bedroom flat and a studio, both with their own entrances, as well as a large games room, extensive storage and a garage.
